Must see look of the day

Its official that nothing surprises me again when it comes to fashion. Just when you think that you've seen all there is to see, new things come into existence. then, your eyes adapt to them, and they become normal.

When i saw this photo of Yvonne Nwosu , i was like what is this? then seeing how much confidence
she exuded this sac dress, it looked normal to me. In the words of a fashionista "With
confidence, you can pull of anything, absolutely anything. There are no rules, only
creative minds"

Hafiz Oyetoro's reaction to the "I don Port" controversy

 

 Hafiz Oyetoro aka Saka, has raised some questions from the media, on whether he is unhappy about his fame. Although the interviewers were able to get him to laugh for a good part of the interview, which took place at Adeniran Ogunsanya college of education at Ijanikin in Lagos, they noticed that he behaved like one with burden in his heart, as though he did not want to look loyal to one master and disloyal to the other.
    What seemed most interesting, was his attitude when his colleagues made a mimic of "i don port". He gave them quick responses and pleasantries, as though he didn't want the attention that he was given. He also turned down questions regarding his drift from Etisalat to MTN, promising to either issue a statement through his lawyer or hold a news conference.
    His office, looked like a typical lecturer's office should, without any over-the-top furnishing. His explanation on why he did not furnish it was that "there are so many things that one can do with money, I want to be as natural as possible, I dont have to be extravagant". He proceeded by saying "As far as i am concerned, i am an average Nigerian. What is more important to me is to be comfortable, to take care of my children, my family and my parents who are still alive. Then make some investments so that when i leave the struggle here and there, i will enjoy. I want to retire to a productive and fulfilling life, not to retire and continue to struggle".

 From the looks of things, Mr Hafiz is definitely not interested in the drama involved with his controversial move...

IN TREND: Those White Pantsuits

Its not like this trend ever went away, but i've been seeing more of it lately from our fashionistas. In my opinion, this is a very tricky trend, because it requires the right Fabric and the right cut, otherwise it will look "school uniformy", lol... (mind my choice of words).....

Tracy Nwakpa wore this to the #Tinsel1000 Event. The only thing i would critique
is the fact that she buttoned up the jacket, which i feel made it a little too formal,
  but then, it seems like she had fun with the outfit..
  

singer and songwiter, Johnny Gill wore this to the butterscotch evening event that
held last week in Lagos (photo,courtesy Bella Naija). Apparently, his performance wasn't
the only thing  that was great. I have never  been a fan of white suit on men,
but honey-child, I'm loving this look.

Fashion Blogger, Sayedero Enytan (The Fashion Engineer) looks good in this
suit, and i love the fact that she used the animal-skin belt rather than a
 black belt. and those sequin shoes... i want!

Jennie baby o eh *singing*....lol... Our very own Jennie Jenkins represents
very well. Using the suspenders was a wise choice, because without it,
the pants would have looked a tad too large. I love the ensemble plus the
hair and makeup. #POW!

color of the shirt she went with were very brilliant choices.

Sometimes its cool not to take things too seriously. Trying to find the perfect
shoe, bag, accessories et al. Its unusual, but i think its cool. This look is what i call

Even Joan Rivers cant critique this look on her any more. Apparently it makes her
comfy. I'll probably wear the same if i wanted to be comfy too.

IN TREND: Dungarees!!!

The dungarees, or as the British call them "overalls" have been a huge trend lately. Fashion has really evolved, because i remember clearly, how my mum dressed me in dungarees and pinafores as a litte child. Its so comfy, and i'm glad its back!

Dungarees are available in Asos, River Island, white pepper, Topshop and other affordable online stores. I couldn't find any around, so i decided to make one with Ankara :) , and i'm waiting for it to be ready... haven't said that, these are some chic ways to pull them off;

Yvonne Nelson wore this to the Ghana music awards some days ago. Love the simplicity of the dress,
although i would have preferred her hair up, probably packed  to a bun. Asides that, she looks great.
